Frank Moulden was President of the South Australian British Football Association (SABFA) from 1905 to 1931. He was the first President of the Adelaide British Football Club in 1904.

Moulden was elected a councillor to the Adelaide City Council 1904, became an alderman in 1913, and Lord Mayor from 1919 to 1921, and subsequently knighted in 1922. He provided trophies, attended meetings and functions of SABFA continuously for over 26 years.

In 1909 he arranged for the visiting Western Australia football team, playing their first competitive matches against South Australia, to have a reception from Adelaide’s Lord Mayor at the Adelaide Town Hall and spoke at the engagement saying that he looked forward to “see and learn the tactics of stronger players”

Born in Adelaide in 1879 educated at St. Peters College and Adelaide University where he was likely introduced to football. Frank was Bayfield Moulden’s nephew. Did they discuss Bayfield’s early days in the 1870s trying to influence the British rules for football? Did Frank decide to follow in his Uncle Bayfield’s footsteps and see himself as continuing the family lineage of support for British Football?
