There is still much to be learned about early football play as the match reports are very limited in specific details about playing skills, player performances, the equipment they were using, and even the rules.
The present state of The Kick Off project website is only the beginning. My hope is that users of this history know more than they see here and want to contribute to this historical record. The Kick Off is designed to be expanded with new information. I’m ready to investigate new sources and, hopefully, keep rewriting the history of football!
Contributors are encouraged to provide material that will further populate the Timeline, Story Maps and Profiles. This might be photographs, diaries, letters, pamphlets, newspaper articles, government reports, in fact any document that can shed more light, no matter if that light is small or large. We would love to find film or audio of early football in Adelaide.
